Alla Smorodyna

Alla Smorodyna is an Associate with Sayenko Kharenko’s IP practice who advises clients on all intellectual property issues with a special focus on advertising laws and regulations, launching advertising campaigns and drafting agreements associated with marketing and advertising-related programs, including sponsorship.

She deals with legal clearance of advertising materials from the concept to final materials, supporting promotional events (sweepstakes, gift cards, loyalty programs, etc.).

Her areas of expertise also cover personal data protection law requirements. Alla represents international clients in the matters involving data protection regulation in Ukraine, advises on obligations related to data processing, including cross-border data transfers.

Alla supports Ukrainian and foreign clients providing her expertise in areas of FMCG, media and creative industries. She advises clients in a variety of the industries, including beverages and alcohol, medicine, as well as sports industry and entertainment. Alla participated in a number of projects for globally known companies regarding protection and represented their interests in Ukraine, particularly, cases connected with copyright and trademark infringement.

Alla began her legal career as a lawyer at Ukrainian governmental organizations. In 2007 she was admitted to the Kyiv Bar Association. Following this experience, Alla then served as attorney-at-law at one of Ukraine’s top-ranked law firms.

Education

Master’s degree in law from Kyiv National Economic University. In 2021 she earned her Ph.D. in law.
