Julika Wahlmann-Smith

Julika is a Partner in Hesketh Henry's Corporate and Commercial team which includes the firm’s Advertising, Marketing and Trade Promotions team. 

Julika advises on a wide range of corporate and commercial law issues, including reviewing and advising on commercial contracts, terms of trade and distribution agreements, mergers and acquisitions, advertising campaigns, consumer law, privacy law and intellectual property rights.

Julika regularly contributes to publications of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance where the firm is the New Zealand member.  Areas in which she provides advice include the following:

• advising on advertising materials and campaigns, drafting terms and conditions and reviewing advertising materials in all areas of marketing, including games of skill, loyalty programmes and special offers;
• advising on regulatory compliance;
• trade promotion activities including lotteries, sweepstakes, games of chance or skill including drafting and reviewing terms and conditions;
• drafting, negotiating and reviewing advertising, marketing and promotional agreements;
• drafting, negotiating and reviewing sponsorship, promotional event and talent agreements;
• advising in respect of privacy and anti-spam legislation;
• advising in respect of intellectual property matters including copyright, trade marks, and confidentiality agreements;
• advising on matters relating to the Advertising Standards Authority or the New Zealand Commerce Commission.
