Relying upon her 17+ year professional experience, Lydia lends her expertise to Italian and foreign clients in matters of Intellectual and Industrial Property, in court proceedings and in extrajudicial settings, with particular focus upon disputes for violations of trademarks and patents, design and copyrights, as well as in the context of corporate transactions and commercial agreements aimed to the exploitation of intangible assets. She has also a long experience in counseling businesses on consumer protection and advertising, also assisting clients in the contentious stage before the competent regulatory authorities.
She has honed deep knowledge of the digital/media & technology, life sciences, fashion, and food & beverage sectors.
Lydia is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). In 2017, for the fourth year in a row, she was recognized in the “IP Stars” (“Patent star” and “Trade mark star”) Category in the “Managing Intellectual Property Survey” publication by Euromoney Legal Media Group.
After earning her Law Degree from the State University of Milan, Lydia was awarded a Ph.D in “International Economic Law” by the Bocconi University, defending a dissertation on “Exhaustion of intellectual property rights in the framework of the TRIPs Agreement. Interests of intellectual property rights owners and the principle of free circulation of goods”.
Prior to joining Portolano Cavallo, Lydia worked at top Italian and international law firms, leading for 8 years the Intellectual Property Team at Allen & Overy.
