The Ever Expanding Right of Publicity Meets "Native Advertising"
February 04, 2016

The Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA) invites you to join us for a webinar on emerging issues in the laws governing "right of publicity" around the world.

With the continuing expansion of the right of publicity -- the right of an individual to control the use of his or her identity for commercial purposes - and the breaking down of the separation between "advertising" and editorial content, advertisers are faced with new challenges.  What content is actually "advertising"?  When is permission required to use an individual in native advertising, in social media, and other sponsored content?  Does identifying content as "advertising" or "sponsored" create additional right of publicity issues?

This free webinar will discuss these and other emerging issues involving the right of publicity around the world and will provide practical guidance about best practices to help marketers assess and manage the risk of claims.
