Jan Ravelingien (1962, Kortrijk, Belgium) obtained his law degree (1985 - cum laude) at the Catholic University of Leuven, where he also studied political sciences. He was assistant professor comparative and international commercial law and researched on international commercial. Jan also lectured marketing law.
Jan is a partner at MVVP, a mid-sized commercial law firm in Brussels (www.mvvp.be) where he is in charge of the commercial law and litigation department. Much of his work relates to market practices, brand activation, intellectual property law and fair dealings generally in the market between companies and between companies and consumers.

Jan works in commercial and trade practices law and complex litigation for 25 years, primarily in a trans-boundary context. This work is divided in equal parts between litigation and counselling. His litigation practice always involves cross-border questions and often times complex conflict-of-laws and procedural issues. He gained, over the years, an extensive experience in international questions of public order, particularly in competition law.
