Eugenio is a partner at az and heads the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. His practice focuses on trademarks, patents, copyright, advertising law, information technology, licensing and brand protection in general. He also advises on plant varieties, designations of origin and geographical indications, e-commerce, data protection, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

Combining a strong litigation track record with hands-on advisory work, he guides clients through a field that is constantly being reshaped by innovation, globalization and new business models. He has designed and implemented protection and enforcement strategies in Chile and abroad for a broad portfolio of domestic and international clients, ranging from leading retail and pharmaceutical companies to major players in telecommunications and transportation, helping them safeguard their brands and innovations as their businesses evolve.

Since 2013, leading publications and rankings such as Chambers & Partners, Best Lawyers, Legal 500, World Trademark Review (WTR 1000), Managing Intellectual Property and IAM Patent 1000 have consistently recognized Eugenio for his work in intellectual property. Chambers Global ranks him in Band 2 for Intellectual Property in Chile and highlights his “assertive and timely responses.”

A graduate of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez School of Law, he holds a diploma in Intellectual and Industrial Property from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and the Chilean Intellectual Property Association (ACHIPI).
