Dominik is a partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Cologne, and in charge of the Intellectual Property and information technology department. He is an Attorney at Law authorized to represent at all District Courts and Courts of Appeal in Germany as well as at the Federal Patent Court and the Courts of the European Union.

Dominik writes and lectures on various Intellectual property issues such as advertising law, copyright law and trademark law as well as information technology. Recent presentations include events in Dublin, Boston, Cologne and Frankfurt. He is a lecturer of the Technical School for Applied Science, Cologne in copyright and media law and also lectures on the “Certified Specialist Lawyer in Copyright and Media Law” program in Cologne. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR), International Trademark Association (INTA, Law firms Committee), International Bar Association (IBA), and the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA), and presides the working group of copyright and media Law at the Cologne Bar.

As an intellectual property lawyer he focuses on advising clients in the manufacturing industry (e.g. perfume manufacturers) as well as in the service industry (e.g. information technology related enterprises) as well as media and creative agencies on aspects of intellectual property law. This includes the responsibility for the application, opposition, maintenance and defence of national trademarks and designs, European Community trademarks and designs and international registrations as well as trademark and design infringement litigation, especially by way of preliminary injunction. He designs and clears sweepstakes and ad campaigns. A focus of Dominik´s work is software projects, particularly Open Source software projects.

He studied at the law schools of Hamburg and Cologne; for his legal clerkship he worked in institutions, inter alia, New York, USA. Dominik joined Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in 1997 the first time and in 2004 for the second time as a partner. He speaks German and English.
