Ernesto works with Italian and foreign clients on regulatory and contract issues in the Digital-Media-Tech sector. He handles exploitation and protection of digital content, television and other audiovisual media, the internet, advertising, copyright, liability of internet service providers, electronic communications, and related matters. He has considerable experience with regulatory aspects of M&A in the Digital-Media-Tech sector.
Ernesto is ranked by The Legal 500 EMEA 2024 in the TMT “Hall of Fame” and by Chambers Europe 2024 in Band 1 (Ernesto was first ranked by Chambers for his media expertise in 2008, at age 30, and has been continuously ranked since). Ernesto is Academic Fellow (professore a contratto) of Digital Media and Regulation at the LLM in Law of Internet Technology at Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi of Milan and has taught undergraduates and master’s students at several other public and private universities.
He is deputy director of the Journal of Media Law, correspondent to the European Audiovisual Observatory, and member of the steering committee of the IAIC (Italian Academy of Internet Code).
He is also chair of the VI subcommittee for film classification of the Ministry of Culture and for four years was an independent expert member of the Standing Advisory Committee on Copyright.
In 2009 Ernesto obtained a Ph.D. in Public Business Law from Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza; he graduated summa cum laude from the law school of the same University in 2002.
