Doil Son is a Managing Partner of Yulchon LLC and leads the firm’s strategic initiatives to expand its international practice and strengthen its industry-focused approach in response to the rapidly evolving landscape of emerging technologies. In addition to his leadership role, Mr. Son also serves as the Head of the Intellectual Property & Technology Group, bringing extensive expertise in the field. His practice is centered on mergers and acquisitions, as well as a broad range of technology-related legal matters, including data privacy, information and communication technology (ICT), and cybersecurity. He also has a proven track record in crisis management.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Son has advised leading multinational and domestic technology companies, e-commerce platforms, and financial institutions on regulatory, transactional, and dispute resolution matters within the ICT sector. His expertise spans artificial intelligence, big data, data privacy, cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, fintech, and healthtech. He currently serves as an advisory committee member for various government agencies, including the National Data Policy Committee, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korean Communication Commission, and the Personal Information Protection Commission.

On the international stage, Mr. Son actively contributes to legal and regulatory discourse as a key member of both the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA). He has served as Co-Chair of the Technology Law Committee of the IBA for 2023 and 2024 and was appointed as a Council Member of the Legal Practice Division in 2025. Additionally, he holds the position of Co-Chair of the TMT Committee of the IPBA.
