Lorena Mersan is a Senior Associate at MERSAN, Abogados and works in IP Department. She an Attorney graduated from the National University of Asuncion (2010), as well as an Intellectual Property Agent. She has a LLM degree from Columbia University School of Law, New York, NY. USA (2013).

Lorena’s main field of practice is Intellectual Property, especially matters related to Trademarks and Patents. She has ample experience in managing trademark portfolios of national and international individuals and corporations in different industrial sectors. In addition to Intellectual Property, she advises clients with respect to commercial and trade activities, as well as matters concerning business and corporate law, advertisement and sports law. 

Lorena is Secretary of the Fashion Law Committee of Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property and Committee Member of the Latin American Trademark Office Relation Subcommittee of International Trademark Association (INTA). She is also member of Inter-American Bar Association (IBA), Paraguayan Bar Association (Colegio de Abogados del Paraguay), Paraguayan Association of Intellectual Property Agents (APAPI), International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and American Intellectual Property Association (AIPLA).

Lorena has been ranked as a "Star Associate" in Intellectual Property on Chambers Latin America 2018 and as a "Recommended Lawyer" on The Legal 500 Latin America 2017.

She speaks Spanish, English and Italian.
