César is an of-counsel at Abreu Advogados, in Lisbon, in the IP, TMT and Data Protection practice. After having been a partner at Abreu Advogados (2000-2007), César left to work in other law firms and now (2017) returned to Abreu Advogados where he is Of-Counsel.

He focuses on advising clients in all aspects of Intellectual Property, as well as Technology, Media and Telecommunications related issues. This includes the responsibility for prosecution and litigation matters concerning trademarks, patents, designs and other industrial property rights, copyright and all aspects of advertising and entertainment law, where he has valuable knowledge and practice, including clearing ad campaigns, contests and sweepstake rules for international agencies.

He holds a law degree from the Law School of the University of Lisbon (1966). He held several offices at the Portuguese Bar Association (Secretary of the Lisbon District Council; Vice-President of the Lisbon District Council, Vice-President of the Lisbon District Council) and was Vice-President of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Delegation of the International Chamber of Commerce.

He is currently registered with Portuguese Bar Association and is also an Official Industrial Property Agent, a Representative at the European Patent Institute, Representative at the Community Trade Office (Alicante), a Member of ECTA (European Community Trademark Association), a Member of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Portuguese Delegation of the International Chamber of Commerce, a Member of the International Federation of Intellectual Property Consultants (FICPI), a Member of INTA (International Trademark Association) and a Member of the Professional Qualification Committee of the European Patent Office (EPI).

He has also written various publications and articles, at national and international level, and is an active member of professional associations, such as the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA) and the Portuguese Association of Industrial Property Consultants (ACPI) and of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI),

Important international publications like Chambers, Legal 500, and Best Lawyers, have appointed César as one of the prominent lawyers in Intellectual Property and Technology in Portugal.
