Mandisa joined the Firm in 2003 upon her admission as an Attorney-at-Law, beginning her career in the Firm’s Litigation Department. Mandisa gained valuable experience as instructing attorney and as advocate in various matters, including debt collection, mortgagee actions, insurance subrogation claims, securities regulation and enforcement proceedings such as bankruptcy and liquidation. 

Having attained a Masters Degree in Law from Cambridge University in 2008, Mandisa joined the Firm’s Commercial Department and, since then, has built her expertise in Banking and Finance and Aviation Finance. She regularly acts for borrowers and lenders in preparing documentation and advising on matters involving debt restructuring, new financings, syndicated loans, bond and equity financing, and all other associated regulatory and tax issues arising from such transactions. Mandisa has also advised security holders on events of default, crystallization and enforcement, creditor priorities and on regulatory issues relating to securities and financial institutions. 

Mandisa also acts for aircraft and engine lessors and is the contributing author for two publications for legal practitioners on aircraft finance and aircraft liens and detention (currently in progress). 

Mandisa has recently expanded her practice to include all areas of Intellectual Property law and effective 2021, will head the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department. 

Mandisa also engages in all other legal services provided by the Firm’s Commercial Department, providing advice on corporate issues, statutory and regulatory issues, particularly relating to financial institutions and the securities industry, and reviewing and advising on distributorships, franchise agreements and other contracts generally.

As a wife, mother of two boys and the subject of a feline queen, Mandisa enjoys baking, reading, travelling and spending time with her family.
