Paul is an advocate duly licensed to practice in all courts of record in Uganda. He was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court in 1998 and is a member of the  Uganda Law Society (ULS) and the  East Africa Law Society (EALS). He is also a member of the  International Trademark Association (INTA) and the  Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA)among other professional bodies.

Paul has more than 16 years post qualification experience in various areas of commercial law and is a recognized expert in intellectual property law in Uganda and within the  ARIPO region where he represents both local and international blue chip corporations. He has acted as counsel for private and public clients such as Comesa,  WIPO, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Industry as well as the  Uganda National Council for Science & Technology (UNCST).

His key areas of expertise are Prosecution of Trademark, Patent and Copyright applications, transactional advice relating to assignment and licensing, as well as enforcement of IP rights. Other areas include advising on Uganda’s trade and investment regime, Franchising and Advertising, Incorporation and dissolution of companies, real estate and related transactions, energy and natural resources law.
