José Antonio joined A&L Mexico’s Office as an associate at the Trademark, Patents and Intellectual Property Litigation departments in 2016. His legal practice includes advising on strategies for the protection, compliance, defense and enforcement of intellectual property rights, mainly in the field of trademarks and patents, as well as consulting in the field of Information Technology and Communication, Regulatory Law, and legal advice on advertising and marketing.
His professional career encompasses 3 years working for an important intellectual property firm in Washington DC. This background allowed him to acquire a wide insight of the U.S. legal system which, combined with his knowledge of the Mexican regulatory system, allows him to successfully advise national and international clients.
José Antonio attained his law degree at Universidad Iberoamericana and has a master’s degree from George Washington University. He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI), the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC), the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA), the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico (AMCHAM) and the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI).
