Agustín Mayer leads the FERRERE Intellectual Property and Pharmaceuticals teams. He is also involved in antitrust, advertising, sports law, entertainment law and mining matters.

For over ten years Mayer has been advising DIRECTV, Nestlé and many other companies in the pharmaceutical sector in Uruguay, representing their interests in large-scale projects and matters.

As part of his work on activities involving intangibles and nontraditional practice areas, he participated in drafting the Law on Sports Corporations and the regulatory decree to the Law for Creation of the Film and Audiovisual Institute of Uruguay.

Mayer West studied law at Universidad de la República (Uruguay) and obtained his degree as attorney in 1999. He earned a Diploma in Intellectual Property from the Graduate Center of Universidad de la República.

He is professor of Intellectual Property in the degree program in Biotechnology at Universidad ORT (Uruguay), and is a founding member of the Intellectual Property Group of Universidad de Montevideo.

He represents Uruguay at the Inter-American Intellectual Property Association (ASIPI) and is Vice Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the International Bar Association. He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), of the Uruguayan Association of Industrial Property Agents, officer of the Intellectual Property Committee of the International Bar Association and a member of the Board of the Bar Association of Uruguay.
